A Bagan Temple in Social, Cross-Platform VR

We brought a detailed 3D model of an ancient Buddhist temple from Bagan, Myanmar into Frame for shared exploration.

The Project

Bagan is home to thousands of ancient Buddhist temples, many dating back to the 11th century. We wanted to let people explore one of these magnificent structures together in VR.

The Process

  • Obtained a detailed 3D scan of a Bagan temple
  • Optimized the model for web performance
  • Set up the Frame environment with appropriate lighting
  • Added informational content about the temple's history

The Experience

Users can explore the temple together:

  • Walk around the exterior
  • Enter and explore the interior
  • Discuss the architecture and history
  • Experience it in VR or on desktop

Why It Matters

This demonstrates Frame's potential for cultural preservation and shared exploration of historical sites. People from around the world can experience places they might never physically visit.

Bringing history to life through social VR.
