In the post pandemic year, Trello decided to give its employee the chance to truly feel together after a year of working remotely. They moved their annual company retreat "Trello Together" online with a virtual recreation of their New York office, in FRAME.
Artists from the FRAME team created a custom 3D world that replicated the physical New York HQ, right down to the much-loved espresso machine. This 3D model was regenerated with support and direction from the Trello team.
Once the base environment was set, the FRAME team collaborated with the Trello team to set up avenues and experiences. From whiteboards to photosphere immersion, the Frame was decked with assets to match the event agenda and flow. With one Frame set up, the team generated more Frames with the exact same assets and then linked them together.
A few weeks before TTVR 2021, the FRAME support team conducted training sessions to help Trello employees break out their new VR headsets and onboard to the virtual world. These sessions helped all employees understand the basics of finding their way around a Frame, using a headset.
During the event, Trello employees donned their VR headsets and stepped into their New York offices, right from their homes. They walked around, bumped into their colleagues, went over to their desks, had water cooler chats by the recognizable mural and just felt together again.
